Santa Fe Not Ready for Digital Television Transition

(Santa Fe Homes Blog) This week the House rejeccted a bill that would further delay the transition of American households to digital television.  With no further delays, on February 17 all media will be forced to transmit digitally. The problem is that out of all the markets measured by Neilson, the Albuquerque-Santa Fe market is at the bottom of the list for being prepared for the transition, with less than 13% of households ready for the change.

The U.S. government has set up an informative Website at www.dtv.gov which discusses all aspects of the transition and how it will affect television viewing and households. With the majority of Santa Fe residents unprepared for the transition, many may face a surprise when their television stops working on February 17.

  1. It might be good for people to stop watching television altogether because so many of the shows on the air today are nothing but crap. I am not ready for the transition and delay or not I am not shelling out money for a new TV or a converter box! I can get most shows for free online.

  2. With less than 13% of households ready for transition it is a move in right direction to give them some more time to prepare themselves for this obvious change of nothing But Technology only….

  3. The digital telvision transformation is upon us - I think that adequate programs have been created to allow the consumers and digital television owners have the option to use their vouchers to buy the equipment required to make the transition to digital. These incentives are a great way to ensure that the transition happened with ease!
